Lily Hall

Motto:Be true to yourself.
Lily Hall, a passionate environmental journalist and author, penned the compelling narrative "EARTH SPEAKS: The Voices and Stories of Our Planet's Guardians" (Greenleaf Press, 2024). Lily is also a dedicated contributor to the renowned journal Nature, focusing on environmental science, sustainability, and wildlife protection. Her work regularly appears in prestigious magazines such as National Geographic and Outside, and she has contributed articles to the likes of the Guardian, Smithsonian, Wired, and many other respected publications.
Her journey began in the lush forests of New Zealand, where she was born and raised. Surrounded by nature's beauty and diversity, Lily developed an early love for the environment and a commitment to its preservation. This passion led her to document the efforts of local communities in the Pacific Islands, who are at the forefront of battling climate change and protecting their unique ecosystems.
In 2021, Lily published her first book, "Roots of Resilience: Stories from the Pacific," which highlighted the struggles and triumphs of islanders fighting to preserve their cultures and lands against rising sea levels. The book was celebrated as one of the year's most inspiring reads by the Los Angeles Times. Following this success, Lily co-authored "Ocean Defenders" (Penguin Random House, 2023) with marine biologist Dr. Maria Santos, a work that earned widespread acclaim and was named a "Top Environmental Book of the Year" by the Boston Globe.
Through her writing, Lily aims to inspire readers to take action in protecting our planet. She believes that by sharing the stories of those who live closest to the earth, we can foster a greater appreciation for the natural world and encourage sustainable practices that will safeguard it for future generations.
