Lily Young, a distinguished neuroscientist, was born in Melbourne and completed her undergraduate studies at Monash University in 2005. She then ventured to London, where she earned her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience from King's College London in 2009. Lily stayed on in London for her initial postdoctoral research (under the guidance of Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore), before relocating to MIT for her second fellowship, working closely with Professor Robert Desimone.

For the past 15 years, Lily has been an influential professor at Cambridge University, while also serving as a visiting scholar at Harvard University. Throughout her career, she has nurtured over 40 students ranging from undergraduates to Ph.D. candidates, alongside numerous postdoctoral fellows.

In 2010, Lily Young established The Perception Pioneers Workshop, a unique entity that combines the rigor of a neuroscience laboratory with the innovation of a design studio. Located in the heart of London, this workshop aims to challenge conventional thinking and promote creative problem-solving. By merging interactive technology with neuroscience principles, it creates experiences that are both educational and engaging.

Lily is also the CEO and co-founder of Horizon Interactive Ltd., a company holding four groundbreaking patents in Virtual Reality (VR) and three additional patents in progress. Through its cutting-edge technology, Horizon develops platforms that integrate VR into everyday life, transforming how we interact with our surroundings. Some of their projects include virtual travel experiences like "Worlds Beyond," "Echoes of Time," and "Sensory Journeys," which offer users immersive historical and cultural narratives tied to specific locations.

She has authored several books, with her most recent being "Reframe: Unveiling the Hidden Patterns of Perception." Lily has also delivered two TED talks, each watched by millions. Her latest talk featured performances by Ballet Rambert, exploring the intersection of human emotion and perception through dance.
