Motto:Confidence is the key to success.
Madeleine Marlowe, Ph.D., is a professor at the Paris Institute of Social Sciences. She has authored ten books, each delving into various aspects of human relationships and social dynamics, along with over 120 articles for prestigious journals and contributions to book chapters. Her 2017 publication, "Sisterhood Circles: Exploring Female Friendships," published by Cambridge University Press, drew from interviews with more than 500 women and 130 men. In recent years, she co-authored two compelling books: "Family Bonds: Strengthening Ties Between Generations" (with Lucille Bernard - 2019) and "The Art of Neighboring: Building Community in Urban Spaces" (with Pierre Durand - 2022), which were grounded in extensive research involving thousands of participants.
Currently, Madeleine is working on a new manuscript focusing on remote work relationships and its impact on personal life, supported by data collected from over 1800 online surveys. Among her other works are "When Cultures Collide: Understanding Global Family Dynamics" (with Amira Hassan), "Solo Mothers," and "Breaking Barriers: Empowering Economically Successful Women in Developing Countries" (with Amina Patel and Lila Singh).
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, Madeleine was awarded Educator of the Year by the French Association of Social Workers in 2009. She also received the Excellence in Teaching Award from the Paris Institute of Social Sciences in 2014 and was named Teacher of the Year in 2021. Madeleine earned her MSW from the Sorbonne University and completed her doctorate in social work at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Based in the heart of Paris, Madeleine continues to inspire students and colleagues alike with her innovative research and passionate teaching style.
