Motto:Follow your passion, it will lead you to your purpose.
Marigold Thompson holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Psychology and Sustainable Development from the University of Sydney. Her research delves into how urban environments influence human behavior, particularly focusing on promoting eco-friendly habits among city dwellers.
Marigold is the creator of the Green Urban Living initiative, aimed at transforming urban spaces into vibrant communities where residents can thrive both personally and collectively. By encouraging sustainable living practices, she seeks to empower people to connect more deeply with nature and each other, beyond the concrete barriers that often define city life.
At the age of 25, Marigold faced a pivotal moment when she witnessed the impact of severe droughts on her hometown in New South Wales. Over the following decade, she became increasingly involved in local environmental projects, fluctuating between different approaches to sustainability. Eventually, she found a balanced method that not only restored her own connection with the natural world but also inspired others to adopt a more harmonious way of living.
In October 2023, Marigold launched an innovative project in Melbourne's CBD, turning rooftops into lush gardens and community hubs. This venture has since flourished, becoming a model for cities around the globe. Through her efforts, Marigold aspires to guide individuals past the surface-level engagement with environmental issues and towards a profound commitment to sustainable living as a cornerstone of modern life.
