Matthew Thompson, Ph.D., is a specialist in environmental psychology with a keen interest in sustainable living and community development. He has earned his doctorate from the University of Edinburgh, focusing on how human behavior impacts urban environments. Additionally, Matthew holds a master's degree in architecture, emphasizing green building practices, as well as a master's in environmental science, concentrating on renewable resources.
Matthew now resides in Portland, Oregon, where he enjoys the vibrant culture and the city's commitment to sustainability. Since 2015, he has dedicated himself to promoting eco-friendly initiatives, research, and education. Matthew has been a visiting lecturer at Portland State University, sharing his knowledge about sustainable design and planning. Prior to this, he spent five years working in urban planning in London, contributing to projects that aimed at integrating nature into cityscapes to enhance residents' quality of life.
In addition to his academic pursuits, Matthew has been an active writer for "EcoLiving Today" since 2018, where he discusses topics ranging from reducing carbon footprints to innovative ways of fostering community gardens. His work often explores how individuals can adopt more environmentally conscious lifestyles and influence others to do the same. Through his writing and consultancy, Matthew aims to inspire and equip people with the tools necessary for creating more sustainable communities and leading greener lives.
