Maximus Thompson, Ph.D., stands as a distinguished Professor of Environmental Science at the University of Edinburgh. Born and raised in the heart of England, Maximus earned his B.Sc. with highest honors from the University of Oxford and later obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Sustainability from Cambridge University. His dedication to nurturing young minds has not gone unnoticed; he has received accolades such as Educator of the Year and Mentor of Excellence Awards. Maximus's research into sustainable urban development and its impact on climate change has been awarded significant grants, including an Earth Institute Fellowship, a Green Cities Initiative grant, and a substantial investment from the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs.
In 2023, Maximus published "The Blueprint for a Sustainable Tomorrow: A Practical Guide to Building Eco-Friendly Cities," which has since been translated into over 15 languages. The book delves into innovative strategies for creating environmentally friendly urban areas that can thrive without harming our planet. His insights have sparked widespread interest, leading to features in numerous international publications, and appearances on TV and radio shows across Europe, North America, and beyond. Maximus is currently working on his next manuscript, tentatively titled "The Urban Revolution: How Cities Can Lead the Way to a Greener Future," set to challenge conventional thinking about city planning and sustainability practices.
