Miles Simmons, Ph.D., is a leading expert in the field of adolescent psychology and behavioral therapy, focusing on conditions like ADHD, anxiety, and depression. He is the author of two acclaimed books: "Empowering Teens: A Parent's Guide to Navigating Adolescence" and "Breaking Barriers: Strategies for Supporting Teen Mental Health." Miles earned his BA and MA from the University of Michigan in Psychology, completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Harvard University, and finished his postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University.

In 2015, Miles joined the faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, where he now serves as a professor of psychology and human development, as well as an associate professor of education. Additionally, he is a senior researcher at the UC Berkeley Center for Healthy Development, dedicating his efforts to understanding the mental health challenges faced by adolescents today. His research has delved into innovative assessment and intervention methods for teenagers with behavioral and emotional disorders, resulting in over 80 scholarly articles and book chapters that have significantly influenced the field.

Miles' work has been funded by prestigious organizations such as the National Institute of Mental Health, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and various charitable foundations. As a clinician and scientist, Miles also provides direct support to adolescents and their families through the UC Berkeley Adolescent Wellness Clinic, offering both evidence-based treatments and compassionate care. With a passion for helping young people thrive, Miles continues to be a driving force in advancing adolescent mental health practices and policies.
