Nicholas Adams, MD, is a distinguished Professor of Radiology and Biomedical Ethics at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He also holds the title of the Jane Doe Chair in Radiological Sciences. Nicholas earned his Bachelor's degree Magna Cum Laude from Stanford University, completed his MD with honors from Harvard Medical School, and obtained an MSc in Bioethics from Oxford University. He was honored as a Fulbright Scholar and received an honorary Doctorate of Science from the University of Edinburgh.

Since joining UCSF in 2016, Nicholas has made significant contributions to both teaching and research. In 2022, he was awarded the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, recognizing his exceptional ability to inspire students. Dr. Adams was acknowledged as the 2023 Outstanding Educator by the American College of Radiology and received the 2024 Innovator of the Year award from the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine for his pioneering work on MRI technology advancements.

Dr. Adams has been instrumental in establishing new protocols that have improved patient outcomes significantly. His dedication to medical education has not gone unnoticed; in 2023, he received the prestigious Hippocrates Award for Educational Excellence from the Association of American Medical Colleges. Nicholas spent part of 2021 as a visiting professor at Kyoto University, where he collaborated on projects focusing on personalized medicine. In 2023, he was awarded the Platinum Medal by the European Society of Radiology for his lifetime achievements in the field.

An avid writer, Nicholas has authored over 500 peer-reviewed articles and several textbooks, including "Radiology in the Age of AI," which was published in 2023. His work bridges the gap between technological advancement and compassionate care, making him a leading voice in the radiology community.
