Motto:If you want to move mountains, start by carrying small stones.
Ophelia Montclair, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) Psychology Department. She earned her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Oxford University, where her research delved into student motivation and engagement strategies. Her academic path took her to King's College London, where she oversaw a team of research assistants and participated in cognitive science studies within an advanced neuroimaging facility.
Ophelia's professional journey has seen her working as a psychologist across multiple international schools, performing detailed assessments that integrate psychological and educational perspectives. Her background also includes serving as a mentor for both undergraduate and postgraduate psychology students, delivering engaging online lectures on Behavioural Psychology, and conducting research aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of emotional intelligence training programs in diverse learning environments.
Beyond her teaching and research, Ophelia penned an insightful book exploring the theories of Lev Vygotsky. As the founder of Montclair Learning Hub and an advocate for personalized education, she is passionate about connecting psychological principles with practical solutions for educators and parents, striving to enrich the learning experience and foster personal growth in young learners.
This December 2024, Ophelia will be leading a workshop in Paris, focusing on innovative approaches to integrating psychology in education. The event promises to bring together educators from around Europe, eager to learn how they can better support their students' development.
