Paul Thompson

Motto:I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
Paul Thompson, a dedicated educator and researcher, has made his home in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas. With a rich background in cognitive science and education, Paul is known for his engaging book "The Curious Classroom" (Penguin Random House) and for co-authoring "Education in the 21st Century" (Cambridge University Press), a widely used textbook now in its 5th edition. He completed his bachelor's degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and later obtained his Ph.D. in Cognitive Sciences from the University of California, Irvine.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Paul is an active member of the nonprofit organization Think Forward Learning, which promotes accessible education technologies, and serves on the advisory board for Playful Cities, an initiative aimed at making urban environments more playful and child-friendly.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Paul enjoys leading an active lifestyle. You might find him hiking the trails around Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, participating in local hackathons, or even brewing his own craft beer. His weekends are often spent exploring the diverse food scene in Austin or volunteering at community events. Through his work and play, Paul embodies the spirit of lifelong learning and the joy of discovery.
