Persephone Hall, MD, Ph.D., holds a primary appointment in Environmental Health at the University of British Columbia. She is also currently an Adjunct Professor at McGill University, a visiting scholar at St Anne's College, University of Oxford, and the Founder of EcoHealth Global Network. Persephone earned her undergraduate degree from McGill University and her MD-Ph.D. (Environmental Science) from the University of Toronto, complemented by research conducted at institutions across Europe. Following this, she completed a Fellowship in Environmental Medicine, a Residency in Public Health, and held faculty positions at various esteemed universities.

In 2023, Persephone established, with her partner, Eliot, The EcoLearning Centres, innovative green spaces dedicated to education and sustainability in Vancouver. As a passionate advocate for sustainable learning environments, she has launched several initiatives aimed at integrating environmental stewardship into daily life. With a bibliography that spans numerous academic papers, book chapters, books, and multimedia projects, Persephone explores topics ranging from climate science and environmental health to community resilience and public policy. Her work often critiques conventional approaches to environmental management.

Persephone is a prevention-focused, interdisciplinary environmental scientist. Her main academic and practice focus is on developing holistic models for planetary health and sustainable living, emphasizing the role of community engagement and cultural practices in promoting environmental well-being. Currently, she is delving into the concept of ecological wisdom and its impact on quality of life. Additionally, Persephone is deeply involved in addressing global challenges such as biodiversity loss, pollution, and climate change, striving to foster societal transformations towards a more harmonious relationship with nature.
