Motto:Purpose is what gives life a meaning.

Philip Jasper Sloane, Ph.D., is a professor of environmental science at the Greenleaf Institute in Austin, Texas. His work and research are centered around sustainable urban development and community resilience against climate change. In 2023, Sloane led the initiative for the Green Cities Coalition, which resulted in the publication of "Sustainable Urban Futures: A Blueprint for Resilient Communities," a guide that offers practical strategies for cities to adapt and thrive in the face of environmental challenges.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Sloane co-authored the book "Growing Together: Gardening Projects, Tips, and Stories from an Eco-conscious Dad" with his daughter, Emma Sloane, a renowned landscape architect. The book explores how families can bond through gardening and creating green spaces, promoting both environmental awareness and stronger family ties (University Press of New England).

Philip also dedicates time to consulting for local governments on policies that promote sustainability and has been instrumental in establishing several community gardens across Austin. His efforts have not only beautified neighborhoods but have also fostered a sense of community among residents. Through his work, Sloane continues to inspire people to live more sustainably and connect more deeply with nature.
