Motto:Custom reconciles us to everything.
Poppy Simmons, MA, is an education innovator, wellness coach, and community leader who runs a bustling wellness studio named BloomWell in the heart of Portland, Oregon. As the Chief Program Officer for Community Wellness Initiatives at GreenLeaf University, Poppy also spearheads the development of sustainable living programs that promote mental health and environmental awareness.
In her latest endeavor, Poppy has co-authored a chapter for a 2024 publication by Sage Publishing titled "Empowering Communities: Strategies for Mental Health and Sustainability," where she delves into "The Role of Nature in Healing Urban Stress." Additionally, she contributed to "EcoPsychology Today" with the article "Green Spaces and Mental Peace: A Breath of Fresh Air," and penned a piece for "Mindful Living Magazine" called "Finding Balance: Integrating Nature into Daily Life."
An engaging public speaker, Poppy shared insights on "Building Resilient Communities through Nature Connection" at the National Association for Environmental Education's Annual Conference held in Seattle in April 2024. She was also a keynote speaker at the International Wellness Congress in Berlin last month, where she led a workshop on "Crafting a Sustainable Lifestyle: Tips and Tools for Everyday Living."
Poppy's passion for integrating nature-based therapies into daily life has been highlighted in various media outlets. In May 2024, she appeared on the "Nature Connects" podcast, discussing the importance of connecting with nature for mental well-being. Her innovative approach to wellness has earned her a feature in "Outside Magazine" with the article "How Walking in the Woods Can Change Your Life."
Beyond her professional achievements, Poppy channels her love for the outdoors into creative writing. Her short story "Rooted" was included in the anthology "Earthbound Tales: Stories from the Soil" published earlier this year. When not leading workshops or writing, Poppy can often be found composing songs inspired by the rhythms of nature, under the moniker "Forest Whisperer."
