Motto:Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can't lose.

Rachelle Lee has always been fascinated by the complexities of international diplomacy and conflict resolution. After years of dedicated study and fieldwork, she's now a leading expert in the application of social psychology to peace-building efforts. Her journey began when she moved to Berlin in 2019 to pursue her Ph.D. in Social Psychology at Humboldt University. Before diving into academia, Rachelle had spent several years working as a community organizer in Seattle.

In Berlin, Rachelle was exposed to a vibrant community of diplomats and activists who were engaged in promoting dialogue between Eastern and Western Europe. This experience profoundly influenced her decision to focus on how social psychological principles can be applied to foster better understanding and cooperation between conflicting parties. She found herself particularly interested in the aftermath of the European migrant crisis and the challenges faced by communities integrating newcomers.

The turning point in Rachelle's career came during her volunteer work with a refugee support organization in Greece in the summer of 2022. Witnessing both the heartening successes of bridging cultural gaps and the heartbreaking failures where old prejudices resurfaced, Rachelle became committed to uncovering what truly works in the realm of conflict resolution. The organization she volunteered for managed to create a temporary oasis of harmony among diverse groups, but it also saw moments of tension that threatened to undo all the progress made.

Back in Berlin, Rachelle channeled these experiences into her research, questioning how short-term interventions could lead to long-lasting changes in attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. By combining insights from social psychology with practical lessons learned on the ground, she embarked on a mission to refine approaches to conflict resolution. Her innovative research aims not only to understand the dynamics of intergroup relations but also to develop strategies that can help societies heal and grow stronger together.

Through her work, Rachelle hopes to contribute to a world where people from different backgrounds can come together and build a future based on mutual respect and understanding.
