Reginald Charles Hunt

Motto:The man who has no imagination has no wings.
Reginald Charles Hunt, Ph.D., is a distinguished professor in the Department of Integrative Health Sciences at the University of Melbourne. As a leading researcher, he spearheads groundbreaking studies funded by major health organizations, focusing on innovative approaches to mental health and wellness. His research primarily explores non-pharmacological interventions for stress management and enhancing psychological resilience, particularly among urban populations.
Reginald has penned/co-penned several influential books aimed at both healthcare providers and the general public, including his latest work, "Mind Over Matter: Strategies for Urban Wellness" (Harvard Health Press, 2024). He is passionate about creating accessible, engaging, and digital-first solutions that can reach a wide audience. One of his notable contributions is the development of an interactive online workshop series called "City Zen," which teaches mindfulness techniques in English and Mandarin. These workshops have been integrated into community centers, wellness hubs, and outpatient clinics across Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Berlin.
In early 2024, Reginald addressed the Australian Parliament regarding the importance of integrating mental health services into urban planning policies. Later that year, he was invited to speak at the World Health Organization's annual conference in Geneva, where he discussed the benefits of preventive mental health strategies. His insights have been highlighted in various media outlets, such as The Guardian, ABC Radio, Deutsche Welle, and Psychology Today. In addition, Reginald shared his expertise on cultivating urban well-being at the Global Cities Forum held in Sydney, Australia, in the summer of 2024.
