Based in Berlin, Germany, Richard launched the Urban Green Initiative (UGI) in 2019, which has since become a beacon for innovative solutions in urban agriculture and renewable energy. His work with UGI has not only transformed several neighborhoods into models of eco-friendliness but also inspired countless communities to rethink their relationship with nature.
In his book "Green Cities: A Blueprint for Sustainable Living," published in 2022, Richard offered practical guidance on how individuals and city planners can adopt environmentally friendly practices. The book became an instant hit, providing a roadmap for creating resilient cities that thrive in harmony with the natural world.
"Roots of Tomorrow," another one of his publications from 2023, delves into the importance of integrating historical knowledge with modern technology to build sustainable futures. It explores the idea that understanding our past can guide us towards smarter urban planning and greener technologies.
Richard served as the Director of Sustainability at Humboldt University in Berlin, where he taught courses on environmental policy and led research projects aimed at reducing the carbon footprint of metropolitan areas. He was also an Adjunct Professor at the Technical University of Munich, sharing his expertise with students across Germany.
His dedication to promoting sustainable practices earned him accolades such as the European Environmental Award and the Global Green Urban Development Prize. Richard was a Fellow of the International Association for Sustainability Education.
Through workshops and seminars, Richard educated professionals around the globe on the principles of sustainable urban design. He collaborated closely with over 40 international organizations dedicated to advancing sustainable practices, ensuring that his teachings reached every corner of the world.
