Ruby Scott

Motto:An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Ruby Scott, a distinguished cognitive psychologist, is now enjoying her retirement after a long and impactful career at Silver Peak University. After earning her doctorate from the University of Sydney in 2005, Ruby moved to Melbourne where she worked as a cognitive consultant for several years before embarking on her teaching journey. She has taught at both Monash University and Silver Peak, where her research delved into the realms of visual perception, memory distortion, personal narratives, group dynamics, and identity formation.
In 2010, Ruby published her first book, "Echoes of Experience" (Academic Press), which explores how individuals with profound life-changing experiences, such as survivors of natural disasters, recall and reconstruct their memories over time. Her second book, "The Faces of Conflict" (Cambridge University Press), released in 2018, provides an in-depth look at the psychological processes that lead to conflict within communities and how those affected by it cope and rebuild their lives.
Currently, Ruby is working on a new manuscript that examines the intricate relationship between personal identity and the way we remember our past. Through her work, she aims to shed light on how our memories shape who we are and influence our interactions with the world around us. Despite having officially retired, Ruby remains an active voice in the academic community, often invited to speak at conferences and workshops around the globe.
