Sage Jordan Carter

Sage Jordan Carter, Ph.D., is a distinguished professor of environmental science and sustainability at the University of New Haven. She has authored more than 200 scholarly papers on diverse topics such as renewable energy solutions, sustainable urban development, climate change adaptation, community resilience, and eco-friendly technologies. Dr. Carter was honored with the Green Innovator Award by the Environmental Protection Agency in 2021 for her pioneering work in green chemistry, received the Global Sustainability Prize from the United Nations in 2023, and was granted a Research Excellence Award from the National Science Foundation in 2024.
Dr. Carter's contributions to the field have not gone unnoticed; she has been named a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Sustainability Sciences for her exceptional and impactful research, and a Fellow of the International Union for Conservation of Nature for her outstanding efforts in promoting conservation practices globally. Residing primarily in Connecticut, she also dedicates time to projects in Hawaii and across Scandinavia.
