Savannah Hughes, a passionate advocate for mental health and wellness, is the author of "Mountain Views with a Hint of Serenity: My Path Through Challenges and Growth," an inspiring memoir published by Aspen Heights Press. Savannah shares her personal journey overcoming obstacles including anxiety and depression, aiming to resonate with young adults who might be facing similar struggles. She currently serves as a visiting professor at the University of Colorado Boulder's School of Social Work, where she imparts knowledge on Clinical Practice Techniques and Community Engagement Strategies.
Based in Denver, Colorado, Savannah has dedicated much of her career to supporting underserved communities within rural areas. Her work focuses on delivering comprehensive care that addresses both mental and physical health, emphasizing the importance of resilience and recovery from trauma. With a background in outdoor therapy programs, Hughes integrates nature-based activities into her therapeutic approach, highlighting the healing power of the great outdoors.
Savannah earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2022. She has been instrumental in founding the Rural Wellness Initiative, which aims to bring accessible mental health resources to remote regions. Additionally, she volunteers as an Online Workshop Leader for the Leadership Development Program offered by the university, contributing to the growth of future leaders in social work and community service.
Her unique blend of experience in mental health advocacy and outdoor education brings a fresh perspective to her work, encouraging individuals to connect with their environment as part of their healing process. Hughes continues to inspire and support those seeking a path towards a healthier, more balanced life.
