Silas Kennedy

Motto:Danger and delight grow on one stalk.
Silas Kennedy is a seasoned journalist based in Seattle, Washington. As of 2024, Silas has been dedicating his time to exploring the intersection of technology and society at the newly established Digital Futures Institute. He leads workshops and discussions on digital ethics, privacy concerns, and the impact of AI on everyday life. A firm believer in the power of storytelling, Silas uses his platform to highlight underrepresented voices in tech.
Having moved to Seattle from New York City just last year, Silas quickly became an integral part of the local community. His career has spanned over two decades, during which he has covered everything from startup culture to the evolution of social media. Silas holds a Master's degree in Communication from Boston University and a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from Howard University.
In his latest project, Silas delved into the world of virtual reality (VR), examining how this emerging technology can bridge cultural divides and foster empathy among users. By collaborating with educators and technologists, he aims to create immersive experiences that promote understanding and cooperation across different communities. Through his work, Silas hopes to inspire a generation of innovators who are as committed to social good as they are to technological advancement.
