Theodora Jackson

Motto:Life's like a movie. Write your own ending.
Theodora Jackson, LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist who has made it her mission to empower individuals with mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) techniques. Since 2019, Theodora has been leading workshops in San Francisco, offering MBSR programs that help participants find peace amidst the chaos of city life.
Theodora completed her Master’s degree in Family Therapy at Stanford University, where she focused on the integration of mindfulness practices into therapeutic settings. Her passion for mindfulness was sparked during her time as a student, when she noticed how traditional therapy sessions could sometimes lack warmth and personal connection. Drawing from her background in music, Theodora began incorporating elements like sound baths and live instrument play into her sessions, creating an inviting atmosphere that encourages open dialogue and emotional exploration. For the past five years, she has fostered a practice that emphasizes presence and authenticity.
Her latest book, "Mindful Moments: Everyday Practices to Cultivate Inner Peace," features interactive exercises, soothing imagery, and real-life anecdotes designed to make mindfulness accessible and enjoyable. "Mindful Moments" can be found wherever books are sold.
Theodora enjoys sharing MBSR online, hosting small group sessions that span over six months. These groups offer members a chance to delve deeply into mindfulness, receive encouragement for practicing skills daily, and build supportive friendships. Additionally, she conducts four-week introductory webinars aimed at those new to mindfulness or looking for affordable options. Participants often join these groups and webinars upon recommendation from their therapists to enhance their personal growth journey.
Beyond working directly with clients, Theodora trains other therapists on integrating mindfulness into therapy, catering to both private practices and community health centers aiming to enrich their offerings.
Through her organization, Mindful Living Collective, Theodora provides global access to mindfulness education. Online courses, webinars, blog posts, instructional videos, and social media content complement her book "Mindful Moments: Everyday Practices to cultivate inner peace."
Born and raised in Europe, Theodora brings a rich cultural perspective to her work, emphasizing empathy and understanding. She practices what she preaches, using mindfulness to navigate her own challenges. Theodora lives in San Francisco with her dog, Melody, where she is currently working on her next project, a guidebook titled "A Year of Mindfulness: Daily Reflections for a Calmer Life."
