Theresa M. Anderson, Ph.D., a distinguished Professor Emerita of Education at the University of New Mexico, embarked on her academic journey in 2015 after obtaining her doctorate from Stanford University. Theresa spent the spring semester of 2020 as a visiting scholar and Fulbright Research Fellow at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where she collaborated on projects focused on educational equity and access.

Since joining the University of New Mexico, Theresa has been an active contributor to the field, publishing numerous articles and chapters that explore innovative teaching methods, student engagement strategies, and the impact of technology on education. She serves as an editorial board member for several prestigious journals, including Educational Technology Research and Development, Journal of Educational Computing Research, and the International Journal of E-Learning.

Based in Albuquerque, Theresa has taught a wide range of courses such as Foundations of Education, Curriculum Design, Instructional Technology, Research Methods in Education, and Policy Studies in Higher Education. Additionally, she has facilitated workshops and seminars on digital literacy and led both undergraduate research projects and graduate-level internships in educational leadership.

At the main campus, Theresa introduced courses like Culturally Responsive Teaching, Educational Policy Analysis, and Advanced Seminars in Educational Leadership. For UNM's Global Campus, she developed online programs in Educational Technology and Learning Sciences. She has also chaired multiple thesis and dissertation committees within the College of Education and Human Sciences.

Theresa's commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education is evident through her advocacy for inclusive classrooms and personalized learning experiences. Over the years, she has implemented various teaching reforms, such as project-based learning, virtual reality simulations, and community-engaged research projects. Theresa was honored with the Outstanding Faculty Award by her students in 2018. In recognition of her contributions to curriculum innovation, she received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2022.

Theresa retired from the university on July 31, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to educational advancement and excellence in teaching.
