Motto:If you want to leave a lasting impression, make it a positive and memorable one.

Ursus, a pioneering researcher in sustainable urban agriculture, has dedicated the past two decades to transforming how cities grow their food. Based at Berlin's Humboldt University (2005 – 2023), Ursus spearheaded initiatives that established rooftop gardens and vertical farms throughout the city, significantly enhancing local food security and sustainability.

In response to escalating environmental challenges, Ursus founded Urban Greens in 2018, a consultancy firm aimed at revolutionizing urban farming techniques. As its CEO, he introduced cutting-edge technologies designed to optimize water usage and minimize the carbon footprint associated with traditional agricultural practices. His work culminated in the publication of two influential books: "Growing Cities" and "The Future of Urban Farms," which have become essential reading for city planners and agriculturists alike.

Recognizing the urgent need for more resilient urban ecosystems, Ursus established the Urban AgriTech Research Lab in 2022. Leading a team of engineers and agronomists, he developed innovative hydroponic systems that automatically adapt nutrient delivery to plant needs, fostering healthier crops while drastically reducing water consumption. Thanks to these advancements, it is now feasible to engineer urban environments that support robust, year-round agriculture, even in densely populated areas.

Ursus's latest book, "The Green Architect: Strategies for Building Sustainable Urban Farms Today," launched on Substack, addresses the growing crisis of food scarcity and environmental degradation exacerbated by unsustainable farming methods. The book offers practical advice on implementing green technologies to cultivate the right crops at the right time, tailored to each city's unique climate and resource availability.

Ursus earned his Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the Technical University of Munich and later obtained his Ph.D. in Urban Agriculture from Berlin's Humboldt University. He holds several patents related to sustainable farming solutions and continues to advocate for policies that promote urban greening and agricultural innovation.
