Victor Simmons, Ph.D., is the distinguished Albert Einstein Professor of Psychology at MIT. His research delves into the complexities of anxiety disorders and the innovative treatments that can significantly improve patients' quality of life, with a particular focus on the long-term benefits of mindfulness and acceptance-based therapies.

Previously serving as the editor-in-chief of Anxiety Disorders Journal, Victor has also been an influential president of the International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy (IACP) and the Academy of Clinical Psychology (ACP). He led the committee guiding the APA in crafting evidence-based practice guidelines. Victor's contributions to psychology have earned him the Esteemed Research Award from the American Psychological Association (APA), along with accolades for Outstanding Scientific Advancements and Professional Contributions to Clinical Practice from the Division of Anxiety and Stress Disorders (Division 42 of APA).

With over 400 scholarly articles and book chapters to his name, Victor has made a profound impact on the field. He's also known for nurturing the careers of more than 30 doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows, many of whom have gone on to become leaders in clinical psychology. His work continues to shape the way we understand and treat mental health issues today.
