Motto:If a thing is worth doing, it's worth doing well.

Willow Kennedy, a vibrant Ph.D. candidate in Environmental Psychology at the University of Sydney, has been working closely with Professor Jane Goodall, an advocate for environmental conservation and animal welfare. Willow's research delves into how urban green spaces impact mental health and community cohesion among city dwellers, taking into account the influence of natural environments on personal well-being. She also teams up with Professor Mark Brown from the Faculty of Science, exploring sustainable practices that enhance quality of life within densely populated areas.

In addition to her academic pursuits, Willow is committed to community service, focusing on initiatives that promote environmental awareness and sustainability in Sydney’s coastal regions. Her efforts have significantly contributed to local projects aimed at protecting marine life and preserving the coastline's beauty.

Prior to embarking on her doctoral journey at the University of Sydney, Willow completed her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science at the University of Auckland in New Zealand, where she was recognized for her outstanding academic performance. Following graduation, she relocated to Australia to further her studies and immerse herself in a country known for its rich biodiversity.

Outside of academia, Willow harbors a strong interest in storytelling through visual media. She has produced several short documentaries highlighting environmental issues and has been involved in organizing film festivals that showcase innovative solutions for a greener future.

This December 2024, as Willow continues her work in Sydney, she remains dedicated to fostering a deeper connection between people and nature, ensuring that the voices advocating for a sustainable planet are heard loud and clear.
