Willow Nguyen, Ph.D., earned her doctorate from the University of British Columbia and finished her clinical psychology internship at Vancouver General Hospital. She is now a distinguished Fellow in Clinical Psychology. At the University of Alberta, Willow serves as a Professor Emerita of Psychology, where she spearheaded the establishment of the Student Wellness Hub, an innovative resource center designed to support mental health on campus.

In recognition of her groundbreaking work, Willow was honored with the Distinguished Researcher Award by the Canadian Psychological Association this year. For years, she has been advising programs aimed at supporting youth facing challenges related to mental health across Edmonton and Alberta. Known for her compassionate approach, Willow has also been celebrated with the University of Alberta’s Excellence in Teaching Award for her commitment to student success and mentorship.

Her research focuses on developing accessible tools that can help young adults better understand and manage their emotions, contributing significantly to the field of psychology. Willow continues to inspire her students and colleagues with her dedication and passion for making a difference in people's lives.
