Wren, a distinguished expert in environmental psychology, is currently a professor at the Greenfield University in the Department of Environmental Studies. This past spring, from March to April 2024, she served as the Chair of the International Committee on Sustainable Urban Development. Wren is also a senior fellow with the Earth Foundation, focusing on positive sustainability practices.

Her research primarily delves into community resilience against climate change and other environmental challenges. Wren has published more than 300 articles in peer-reviewed journals and co-edited "Greening Urban Spaces: A Guide for City Planners, Architects, and Advocates" (EcoPress, 2019), "The Oxford Handbook of Environmental Psychology" (Oxford University Press, 2020), and, together with her co-editors Hannah L. Moore and Jordan P. White, "Diversity in Urban Landscapes," released by Terra Books in 2021.

She contributed to "The Eco-Conscious Generation and Urban Planning: Perspectives of Tomorrow's Leaders" (Sustainable Cities Press, 2022) and co-edited "Urban Performance Optimization: The Science of Enhancing Livable Cities" (Oxford University Press, 2023). Wren authored the highly praised "Rooted in Strength: How Environmental Psychology Shapes Our World" (Oxford University Press, updated edition, January 2024), exploring the pivotal role of psychological principles in shaping sustainable cities of the future.

Her latest book, co-authored with urban planner Emma R. Stone, is "The Green Edge: Building Sustainable Futures with Integrity" (HarperCollins Publishers, September 2024), which highlights leading with integrity in creating sustainable and thriving communities.

From her base in San Francisco, Wren continues to inspire and lead initiatives that promote a healthier planet for all its inhabitants.
