Motto:The journey through life is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourself.
Wyatt Turner has been a dedicated mental health advocate and licensed psychologist in Austin, Texas for over two decades. Wyatt specializes in helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of anxiety, depression, resilience building, and emotional intelligence. He also focuses on adolescent development, working closely with teens and their parents to foster healthy communication and understanding.
Wyatt is an acclaimed author of five books and more than 70 articles on mental health and family dynamics. His insights have featured in prominent platforms like The Washington Post, TED Talks, Psychology Today, and CBS This Morning. In recognition of his contributions, Wyatt has received accolades from organizations such as the American Psychological Association, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and the Texas Psychological Association. Each year, he conducts workshops and seminars for educators, healthcare providers, and community leaders across the United States, Europe, and Australia. Participants often describe his presentations as insightful, engaging, and impactful.
Wyatt regularly serves as an expert consultant in legal matters concerning child welfare and psychological assessments. His book Bridging the Gap: Strategies for Effective Parent-Teen Communication won "Book of the Year" by the Family Therapy Association and is used as a textbook in various educational institutions. His latest work, Embracing Vulnerability: A Guide to Authentic Living, has also found its way into university curriculums.
Earlier this year, Wyatt addressed the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, providing testimony on the importance of integrating mental health services into school systems. His official website, www.MindMatters.org, offers resources and information for those seeking support in mental health.
Austin, December 5, 2024 – As winter approaches, Wyatt looks forward to continuing his mission of empowering communities with knowledge and tools for better mental health.
