Xeniah

Motto:The key to happiness is to find joy in the simple things.
Xeniah, a vibrant psychologist based in the heart of Seattle, specializes in adolescent development, family therapy, and community mental health. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Xeniah earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Washington, followed by her master's and doctoral degrees from Seattle University. Beyond her role as a psychologist, she is also certified as a clinical counselor and substance abuse therapist in Washington State.
As the founder and CEO of Roots & Wings Wellness Center, an innovative and community-acclaimed organization located in Capitol Hill, Seattle, Xeniah leads a team dedicated to empowering individuals and families through comprehensive mental health services. In addition to her work at the wellness center, Xeniah teaches psychology courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, inspiring the next generation of mental health professionals. Known affectionately as "Doc X" among her clients and students, she has co-authored several articles on mental health practices.
In recent years, Xeniah has been honored with multiple accolades for her contributions to the field, including being named one of Seattle’s Most Influential Leaders in 2023 and receiving the Community Impact Award in 2024. Her insights on topics such as resilience, youth empowerment, and community building have been featured in various media platforms, including local news stations, podcasts, and national publications like Psychology Today.
Driven by her passion for fostering stronger communities, Xeniah volunteers extensively, serving on the advisory board of YouthCare, an organization supporting homeless youth, and as a mentor within the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. She is also deeply involved in her local congregation, where she participates in outreach programs aimed at providing support and resources to those in need.
Xeniah has been a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., for over 15 years, where she was initiated into the Beta Psi chapter at the University of Washington. Presently, she is active in the Alpha Lambda chapter (Seattle, WA), contributing as a committee leader focused on educational initiatives and community engagement projects.
Married to Marcus, a fellow advocate for social justice, they share a home filled with laughter and learning, alongside their three children, aged 6 to 12. On weekends, especially Saturdays, which she cherishes as her day of renewal, Xeniah enjoys hiking trails around Mount Rainier, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, and dedicating time to personal growth and relaxation.
