Motto:Let your passion drive you, not your fear.
Xeniah James, Psy.D., (she/her) is a dedicated clinical psychologist with a specialization in adolescent mental health. She operates her own practice in sunny San Diego, CA, where she supports young people and their families through various challenges. Xeniah holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University, and completed advanced training at UCLA Medical Center.
After nearly a decade of service in urban health clinics, Xeniah transitioned to private practice, which opened up opportunities for her to pursue her passion for writing. In 2022, she launched The Urban Teen’s Guide, an insightful blog that explores issues relevant to teenagers in metropolitan areas. Since then, Xeniah has also been contributing a regular advice column for Teens magazine since 2023. Her work can be found in several publications, including the Los Angeles Times, Teen Vogue, Mindful Magazine, and others.
Her latest endeavor is the publication of her first book, "Empowering Voices: Navigating Adolescence with Strength and Resilience," aimed at helping teens find their voice and thrive during this transformative period. Additionally, Xeniah runs a popular Substack newsletter that delves into topics surrounding youth empowerment and mental health.
Xeniah lives in a vibrant neighborhood in San Diego with her partner, two teenage children, and a rescued cat named Luna. When she's not working, you might find her enjoying the coastal views from her home office, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean.
