My parents said that from now on, just come down and work. Ever since I was little, I've been told that if I don't do well in the exams, I'll die. By Anonymous | Published on December 18, 2024

In the past, I had good sleep quality. But recently, not only have I been suffering from insomnia, I also can't sleep during the day.

When there are a lot of people around, it's very noisy. Every day, I try to be tough.

Every day, I would talk about nothing but death. I was clearly afraid of pain, but I still liked the feeling.

Recently, the final grades came out, and when I asked our homeroom teacher about them, he ignored me. My mother called the teacher, who said that he had lost the grade list, but that he still remembered roughly that I had scored over 70 points.

And they said they weren't sure. My grades in other subjects were okay, I could be considered a leader, but I was bad at math.

My parents said that in the future, I should just come down and work, not study all day, and play games every day. Ever since I was little, this is what happened every time I didn't do well on an exam.

Am I?

Hello! I'll give you a warm hug from afar first.

It's natural to feel a sense of grievance, helplessness, and powerlessness when you're not accepted, affirmed, understood, and supported by your parents.

When you're facing those painful emotions caused by your parents' lack of understanding and acceptance, you can try to be brave and honest about how you feel in that moment. Don't judge their words or actions, just express your feelings and needs so they can see how their words and actions have hurt you. You deserve better.

Of course, the first step is to understand your own feelings and needs. One way to do this is to keep an emotional diary. In it, you can write down how you feel when your parents don't accept or understand you. This helps you to understand your emotions better, experience them, and feel them. It also helps you to explore the hidden needs behind your emotions. This is also a way for you to make the emotions that have always made you feel unaccepted and ununderstood by your parents visible, express them, and release them.

It's important to understand that your parents' criticism, intolerance, and lack of understanding of your studies isn't because you aren't good enough. It's more because your learning state has triggered their early learning anxiety and emotional state of unease. This is something they need to be aware of and work on.

I'm Lily, the little ear of the Q&A Museum. The world and I love you.

Ross Davis To learn is to open the windows of the mind to new vistas.

I understand how frustrating and upsetting this situation must be for you. It's really tough when you're trying your best and it feels like no one is recognizing that effort. The lack of sleep and the noise around you definitely don't help at all. It's important to find a way to communicate with your teacher and parents about these issues.

It sounds like you're carrying a lot on your shoulders right now. The mix of insomnia, the confusion over your grades, and the pressure from your family can make anyone feel overwhelmed. Maybe it's time to talk openly with someone you trust about how you're feeling and what you're going through.

Olivia Shaw Time is a tapestry of beginnings and endings, woven as one.

Feeling ignored by your teacher and hearing that your grades were lost must be incredibly disheartening. On top of everything else, it's no wonder you're finding it hard to cope. Seeking support from a counselor or a trusted adult might provide some relief and guidance on how to handle these challenges.

I'm sorry to hear that you're facing such difficulties. It's not easy when you're struggling with sleep and dealing with uncertainty about your performance. Sometimes it helps to write down your thoughts or speak to someone outside your immediate circle who can offer a fresh perspective on things.
