People around me say I don't smile, am I just unable to? By Anonymous | Published on December 18, 2024

People around me say I don't smile much, I just can't seem to, and I've wondered what the reason might be. I have no interest in anything or anyone. Will this lead to illness?

Hello, host!

I'm excited to help you and I'd love to hear your feedback!

Reading the question description, I can totally appreciate the anxiety and helplessness of the poster. I want to give the poster a big, warm hug here!

Before we dive into answering the original poster's question, let's explore two fascinating concepts: fact judgment and value judgment. Imagine taking an exam where there's a standard answer. If you were asked how tall you are, you could measure it and get a precise answer.

But when it comes to value judgments, there's no one-size-fits-all answer! Take, for instance, when I say you're too tall.

This is a value judgment, because in everyone's mind, the standard for tallness is different—and that's what makes us all unique!

First, I want to explain these two concepts to the poster so that they understand that our answers are based on our own understanding, experiences, and values. This means that the perspective and direction of the answers, as well as the train of thought, are just for the poster to consider. I really hope the poster will not regard our answers as the standard answer!

The host said that the people around him said that you don't like to laugh. I don't know what the host himself thinks, but I know he's an interesting guy! The host said that he just can't laugh, not when there are people around, but also when he is alone, when he can let loose and laugh out loud.

Of course, according to Adler, each of us actually has our own amazing lifestyle. Some people love to laugh, play, and be with others. These people are what we usually call extroverts, and they're great! Meanwhile, there are also people who just like to be alone, reading their favorite books and listening to their favorite music. They really don't have many thoughts about dealing with other people. These people are what we often call introverts, and they're wonderful, too!

If the host is calm and at peace when alone, then there shouldn't be a problem. But if the host has no way to be alone and no way to integrate into society, we have the exciting opportunity to think about whether something has triggered our emotions. This could be anything from recently changing jobs, the work becoming more demanding, the boss's standards being raised, or something going on in the family.

If none of this is the case, then it is indeed possible that the host is a little lonely. The good news is that there is a solution! It is suggested that the host can go and chat with a professional psychological counselor. Maybe they can help you find some reasons, analyze them, and regain the joy in life.

I really hope this helps! Every contribution is eagerly awaited and we love to hear your feedback from the host and other interested parties. And don't forget to show us some love with your attention and likes!

Not being able to smile and losing interest in activities can be symptoms of underlying issues. It's worth considering speaking with a healthcare provider to discuss how you're feeling. They can offer guidance on ways to cope and improve your situation.
