I was in a similar state to you for a while. I was "stuck at work, with no progress and no direction," which led to a series of events that made me crazy at the time. I felt like the whole person had closed up, but in my normal life I was the kind of person who liked to set the mood. My colleagues and friends didn't know what was going on in my mind, so they just joked with me as usual. I really couldn't get motivated to do anything, and I was smiling very fake, which caused others to be embarrassed too. I felt guilty that I couldn't get motivated.

This state of mind lasted for about a week. One day, I came home from work and realized that I had run out of food. I didn't want to go grocery shopping (I really just wanted to lie down), but I also knew I couldn't go on like this. So I went to the market downstairs (which was a real surprise). The market is a lively place. I bought some of my favorite vegetables and meat and went home to cook myself a hot pot.

After dinner, I tidied up the house a bit and then bought myself a new outfit (from a Chinese online shopping site), which made me feel completely refreshed.
