After consulting with a psychologist, I found out that my understanding of myself is not firm, or that I do not have a clear answer to the question of who I am.

Friends, is there any way for me to clarify this answer myself, or what kind of training should I do?

The consulting process is long-term, and consultants are trained professionals who will work with the client to find solutions.

My perspective on this matter is that the process of self-discovery is an ongoing endeavor. The tasks we undertake in our lives can be distilled to two key steps: first, identifying our true selves, and second, relinquishing the self.

At birth, the concept of the self is non-existent. As we mature, we gain an understanding of our physical existence, and during adolescence, we begin to explore our psychological identity.

It is important to maintain a healthy balance between self-awareness and self-consciousness. Being excessively self-conscious can impede understanding of the external environment, limit your perspective, hinder comprehension of other perspectives, and make it challenging to tolerate diverse opinions. This can also lead to inadvertent harm to oneself and others.

A lack of self-awareness can result in a sense of directionlessness, making it challenging to navigate the path ahead. External influences can also create a pull in multiple directions, making it difficult to focus on a single objective.

The subsequent phase in self-awareness entails relinquishing the self, which is distinct from the absence of a self. The act of relinquishing the self is predicated on a lucid understanding of the self.

It can be understood as having already embarked on the desired career path, maintaining focus and facing the future with a clear mind. Confucius said, "Follow your heart's desires without transgressing the bounds of propriety." This is the optimal state of mind.

It is recommended that the questioner begin by considering the purpose of his life, what is important to him, and what he must do to achieve his goals. The essence of meaning therapy is to live in accordance with one's values.

We can identify these factors by considering various aspects of life that provide a sense of purpose, achievement, or engagement. Documenting these elements may reveal a common thread that represents the individual's core values or genuine interests.

Once the core value has been identified, it can be built upon incrementally. For instance, if altruism is identified as the core value, it can be practised in a way that aligns with the individual's personal beliefs and values. By engaging in a series of reflections, the meaning of life can be enhanced.

I believe that, as a result of this process, the questioner may also gain insight into their own perspective.
