Lack logical reasoning and cognitive ability yet experience an abundance of emotions and feelings? By Anonymous | Published on December 18, 2024

Youth is immature; lacks truth, logic, and cognition about things. Yet, it is filled with inexplicable emotions and feelings. With the improvement of cognition, it seems that many problems can be resolved. It seems that learning and self-improvement are very important. Striving to overcome pain and pursue success.

We often want to become more rational, but we're all emotional beings at heart. It's okay to feel the feelings you have, and you don't need to worry too much about it. When you understand the value of training your logic and improving your cognition, you'll naturally start to learn more. This is a great thing, but it's not about "the road to success by getting rid of pain." It just makes you more rational.

We are all emotional beings because of the amazing evolution of the brain!

The reptilian brain is the most primitive brain and is about 200–300 million years old! It's responsible for individual survival, the need for physical safety, and body awareness. All animals have a primitive brain, which mainly controls heartbeat, breathing, blood pressure, and metabolism. It's connected to the heart and cannot be consciously controlled by body awareness.

If you feel unsafe, your primitive brain will react in one of three ways: fight, flight, or freeze. This is also the instinctive reaction that humans use to protect themselves or attack. It's a natural response, and it's there to keep you safe!

Then, something really special happened. The emotional brain evolved, and it's been working hand-in-hand with the primitive brain for 50 million years! It was formed under the survival needs of the family. It's all about social interaction, reciprocity, parenting, and the desire to be respected, loved, accepted, and trusted. Amazingly, all mammals have an emotional brain, and they can generally raise their offspring and live in groups and families.

It's around this time that our various emotions start to develop. And it's also around this time that negative emotions start to emerge. Why? Well, it's because our genes are designed to keep us on our toes! They want us to be vigilant, because if we're not, we might forget that we're not the masters of the earth. The genes of those brains that remain vigilant will be passed down.

The human brain has a special visual brain that has been around for less than three million years. It helps us with lots of important things like language comprehension, learning and memory, reasoning and planning. The visual brain loves colors and pictures, can see things in multiple dimensions, and only works when we're relaxed.

The visual brain is truly amazing! It occupies two-thirds of the entire brain capacity, is divided into the left and right cerebral hemispheres, and has 16 trillion neurons, more than the number of stars visible in the universe. The left brain controls the right side of the body and is responsible for a person's linear logic, rational thinking, and language skills. The right brain, on the other hand, controls the left side of the body and determines a person's sense of space, abstract thinking, musicality, and artistic nature.

Isn't it amazing that the visual brain is only found in humans? It's so creative!

Have you ever wondered how the three brains interact with each other in everyday life? Let me give you an example:

When we first meet someone new, it's totally normal to feel a little shy and not want to speak right away. After all, we're all just doing our best to figure each other out! If we want to get to know each other better, we can start by saying hello and asking how they're doing.

If we make sure both sides of the primitive brain feel safe, give the other person respect, trust, and love, this will satisfy the needs of his emotional brain. This will allow a deeper dialogue, communication, and cooperation to take place, and the visual brain can slowly open.

So, the questioner said, "Young and immature; not enough logic, cognition, or understanding of the truth of things. But there are a lot of inexplicable emotions and feelings."

This is all part of the journey of human growth and development. Even if you've reached a certain age without much self-awareness, you're still in the emotional brain and may find it challenging to view things in a more rational way.

So, how can we help ourselves become more aware of the functions of the three brains and then make better use of them?

1. Write an "awareness diary"

It's totally normal for our emotional brains to kick in when something happens. After all, they've been working for 50 million years! So, it's really helpful to take a moment to reflect and be aware of what's going on inside.

Hey there! We all get angry and unhappy sometimes. It's totally normal! But have you ever asked yourself why you were feeling that way? Try asking yourself a question like, "Why was I so angry just now?" or "Why was I so unhappy just now?"

Asking questions is a great way to help your visual brain wake up and give your emotional brain a bit of a break. You can keep a diary of your awareness like this:

Let's take a moment to reflect on what just happened.

Let's take a moment to think about what emotion we felt at that time.

Let's think about how you saw the situation at the time.

Take a moment to reflect on what is going on around you. Think about how you feel about it, what your expectations are, and what you need.

And now for the next step! What should I do next time I encounter something like this?

It's so important to record our feelings when we encounter certain emotions. It's amazing how, over time, you'll be able to see things more clearly, understand your expectations and needs, and know what you don't like. Your values will become more and more vivid!

2. Stay curious about the truth!

Many people are convinced of what they see, and that's okay!

Plato once told a story about a cave. People lived in the cave and thought that the cave was the world. When someone walked out of the cave and saw the sun, flowers, plants, and beautiful scenery, he came back and told the people that the outside world was even bigger. Everyone was a bit shocked and unwilling to believe him, so they killed the person who had seen the real world.

And we should always ask ourselves: Is what I see and hear the truth?

When we see a study, it's always a good idea to ask ourselves: is this information totally accurate? It's always a great idea to look into things for ourselves and do our own research!

Keeping an inquisitive mind about facts is a great way to cultivate the ability to think critically!

This way, we can avoid blindly following the crowd and keep our ability to think independently intact.

It's just like the different types of news online nowadays. To get the full picture, you need to read both sides and soak up as much as you can.

3. Give your mind a break! It'll help you be more creative.

We often use our brains too much, which can make us feel a bit numb and disconnected from our senses.

It's also important to give your brain a chance to rest while you're learning and improving your knowledge.

We all know that creativity and inspiration are the products of a rested mind!

Many people love the tea ceremony and flower arrangement. They find that interacting with nature and things like water and flowers helps them to calm down and slow down.

If you're interested, you should definitely check out more books on philosophy! You can read Western philosophy, the Eastern Analects, and the Tao Te Ching.

And there's more! You can also learn more about the way of life.

I really hope the original poster can meet a better version of herself. I hope she can find a way to live her life with both rationality and sensibility, and that she can find wisdom along the way. I hope she can find the meaning of life and live it to the fullest.

Hello, landlord. I saw your confession and want to give you a hug. I hope my sharing inspires you!

Don't let emotions get in the way!

To achieve your goals and have a smooth life, you need to have a broad mind, stay calm in the face of injustice, and manage your emotions. Only then can you become strong through repeated challenges.

Outstanding people adapt to any situation, don't let emotions affect their work, and have time to deal with trivial matters.

This person can manage emotions well. So, help others with advice, resources, knowledge, connections, and direction.

We will encounter many things. When this happens, it is best to remain calm. Getting angry is a bad idea. It will cause problems.

Many celebrities succeed because they can stay calm.

For example, when "Kuaishou" faced criticism and offensive posts, it chose to package itself and use flashy advertising to shape its image. In the end, the tool that clarifies people's records speaks the language of young people.

When "Fantasy Westward Journey" and "A Westward Journey" went online, NetEase founder Ding Lei was criticized. He kept quiet and let people curse, while I kept making money. After many years, the people who cursed got tired of it, but NetEase continued to improve.

The truly successful person faces emotions, understands how to manage them, and never acts on impulse. They speak with wisdom and achieve their career and life goals.

That's all.
