I just started high school, and I feel like my mental state is not good. Is it going to be hard to live on? By Anonymous | Published on December 27, 2024

I'm currently in high school. I feel like life is so hard, I can't do anything well, I'm a waste, I have a terrible memory, sometimes I suddenly feel so sad I want to die, and lately I've really hated going to school, I get sick whenever school starts, it's just so hard. I feel like I haven't had a good time since I was little, I'm stupid, I can't study well, I procrastinate and I'm lazy, I'm also a little socially awkward, I'm scared of/hate interacting with people, I hate crowded places, I'm so tired...

I'm really sorry you're feeling this way, but it's important to remember that you're not alone. Many people go through tough times during high school. It might help to talk to someone you trust about how you're feeling, like a family member or a counselor. They can offer support and help you find ways to cope with these feelings.

It sounds like you're carrying a heavy load right now. It's okay to feel overwhelmed sometimes. Maybe taking small steps each day could help. Try to set tiny, manageable goals for yourself, and be kind to yourself when things don't go as planned. Remember, progress doesn't always mean perfection.

Life can indeed be challenging, especially in high school. But it's also a time of growth and learning. You don't have to be good at everything to be valuable. Focus on what you do enjoy and what you're good at, even if it's just one thing. That can be your starting point for building confidence and finding joy again.

Feeling this way is really hard, and it's okay to not be okay. If school feels too much, maybe consider talking to a teacher or counselor about adjusting your schedule or workload. Sometimes, just a little change can make a big difference. Also, finding a hobby or activity outside of school can give you something to look forward to.

I understand how exhausting it can be. It's important to acknowledge your feelings and know that they are valid. If interacting with people is difficult, it's okay to take it slow. Maybe try connecting with people online where it might feel safer. There are many communities out there where you can find others who share similar interests.
